Personal Style Editorial Magazine: Best Photos
I had several photoshoots to get all the photos I needed for the magazine. These photos are some of my favorites I took!
Personal Style Editorial Magazine: The Original Plan
This plan shows what I wanted to do for my project. I was inspired by the photos for my photoshoots. I wanted to incorporate typography and graphic design as well.
Personal Style Editorial Magazine: The Process
I wanted all new photos for this magazine, so I had two different photoshoots with four models. We shot in a studio with a white background and bright continuous lighting. We photographed for about 45 minutes for each model, trying out different fun poses and ideas. At the end of each model’s time, we did RGB lighting for about 15 minutes. We tried tons of different colors, combinations, and angles. It was so much fun! The RGB lighting was my favorite part of the photoshoots. Here is a link to a blog post showing the model photos I used.
For the product photos, I took photos with one of my models. She posed with the products for some photos, and for others, we did the products on their own. We wanted to create unique poses and ideas, so we brainstormed together different ways for her to pose with the products. She did an amazing job and I love how they came out. Here is a link to a blog including the product photos we created.
Once I was done with the photoshoots, I had around 100 new photos to choose from. I ended up using about a fourth of the photos. It is important to take more photos than you need, so you can choose the best one! Once I had all the photos edited, I started designing the magazine.
There were MANY rough drafts of the magazine and the graphic design portion. I had many ideas and couldn’t figure out how to use them all together. But through trial and error, I was able to create a beautiful layout for the magazine, and several graphic and typography designs. After this, I was able to put the photos where I wanted, and create the final product!
